The Love Contract

Sue me.

You’ve found the page that practically invites a law suit.

You see, The Love Contract is an industrial and the client was a major law firm. This was work-for-hire and I signed a contract (not a love contract) giving them all rights to the songs I wrote for this musical comedy. So, I don’t have the right to share them here. Please don’t tell.

The Love Contract is about an actual legal contract created by the firm which enables two workers at the same company to date without legal repercussions.

Originally, they asked Dani Shear and John Allee to create a musical using parodies of show tunes to illustrate what the contract does.

The firm then decided to distribute a video of the musical, but, rather than get permission from the copyright holders, they commissioned an original score, music and lyrics by me. It was an ideal assignment. Here’s what I made of what was once You’re Just In Love:

This was many years ago, when the concept of peppering your texts with emojis was a new one. Those were the days. 🙂
